Race report by Olly Jefferies
Round 5 of the BRCA 1/12th nationals took place over the weekend and was held inside a large shopping mall located in Milton keynes. The centre:mk was the perfect venue for the event and a great opportunity to show RC racing to the general public. The BRCA did a great job organising the event and it was clear from the crowds around the track across the whole weekend that it created a lot of interest from the public watching. Nick Damon was also on hand to stream the event live to the world with RC-TV so nobody missed out on the action.

In the open modified class Olly Jefferies arrived already as champion but looked to get another win under his belt with the X12 and use the event to gain more valuable data before the European Championships in March. Throughout qualifying Olly only made small adjustments to his car which was working well on the tight and techincal track. After four rounds of qualifying Olly lined up on pole with a margin of eight econds to second place.

From the start tone Olly eased away from the chasing pack and over the eight minutes built up a healthy lead to take the win. While Olly had a race up front on his own the battle for second place was thrilling for the crowds around the track watching. Mark Stiles eventually came across the line in second with Chris Kerswell finishing off the podium in third place after a race long battle between the pair.
